Universal Shoring System™ (USS)
The patented Universal Shoring System™ is an adjustable, galvanized steel frame that adjusts to different bridge height requirements as needed to shore up existing railroad bents while they await repairs. It is reusable and handles a wide range of shoring/bracing situations.
A pre-engineered and reusable USS™ unit can be delivered to a bridge site and can be erected to fully support the failing bent within a couple of hours. The USS™ approach is less expensive, quicker, and safer to implement, and more environmentally friendly than the current used method and procedures.
USS™ is designed according to the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) design guidelines and standards to carry the required loads.
